At present, the fortification criterion featuring in “no damage in small seism,repair in middle seism and no collapse in large seism” is generally adopted in theseismic code in various countries, which is considered as the most reasonable methodin handling heightened uncertainty of the earthquake action, and such kind of designconcept has witnessed huge success in the practical projects. At present, in developedcountries and regions as well as some densely-populated suburbs, most buildings aredesigned and reinforced in accordance with the current seismic code, and therefore,the number of casualties resulted from severe earthquake disasters drops sharply.However, such kind of design concept is in the pursuit of guaranteeing life security asthe fortification target, it can protect the major structure from collapse in the largeearthquake in order to protect life and property safety, but it is possible for it to bringabout loss of normal functions of use in structure, causing tremendous economic loss.Along with rapid economic development, large expenses may be needed includinginternal decoration of buildings, non-structured components as well as informationtechnical plants, and sometimes, they may exceed expenses of structure itself, whichwill cause more serious loss.For this reason, the seismic design based on performance, as one kind of morereasonable design concept, stands for the developmental orientation of the structureseismic design in the future, which is widely appreciated globally. Performance-basedstructure design concept is the structure design based on analysis of structure seismicperformance. In this thesis, some apartment-typed hotel (the hotel is located inZhonghai International Community in Yuelu District, Changsha, which belongs toChangsha Zhonghai Real Estate Co., Ltd) is selected as the background to conductkey analysis on structured seismic performance to put forward relevant designsuggestions for structure design.It is composed by the following main points in this thesis:(1) Introduce the theoretical background and the significance of the research,present situation of development of the seismic design based on performanceand related examples of projects and raise the performance standard structuresshould meet;(2) Adopt program SATWE of the series of programs PKPM worked out by CABR (China Academy of Building Research) to design the structure inelastic stage of small earthquake, adopt program PMSAP of the series ofprograms PKPM to carry out auxiliary computation and make a comparativeanalysis between the result of program PMSAP and SATWE;(3) Adopt program SATWE to analyze the elastic dynamic schedule under effectsof frequent earthquakes and check and comparatively analyze the resultsthrough PMSAP;(4) Conduct pushover analysis and EPDA analysis of structures under the effectsof rare earthquakes by means of PUSH Analysis and EPDA Analysis of seriesof program PKPM, understand development of structural plastic hinge, findout the weak point of the structures and take consolidated measurescorrespondingly to ensure structures to maintain sound anti-seismicperformance in rare earthquakes.
