With the background of the rapid developemenrt of Chinese automotive industry, thedemand for auto parts is increased. As the auxiliary componets of the starting system, theautomotive starter is required with higher demand and quality. This paper designs a new fullyautomatic insert machine for automatic starter rotor innovatively, adapting the virtual designand virtual assemble technology, and based on the basic theory of the mechatronic systems.With the analysis of the process of rotor insert machine, the rotor inserting mainly includesdelivering paper, cutting paper, inserting paper. In order to insert paper continuously, whichmeans to produce automatic starter rotor in a pipeline, and improve the productivity, thispaper devides the continuing paper-inserting function into seven subfunction modules, asmaterial-sending module, lifting module, topp-tighting module, rotaing module,paper-sending module, cutting and inserting module, positioning module.Based on the actual project, the reseach of this paper focuses on the automabic insertmachine’s rotating function module design, the three dimensional modeling of the componentof insert machine, virtual assembling and motion sumulation analysis of material sendingmechanism. Firstly the paper gives an account of the developing process of auto starttechnology and the basic construction of automative starter, describing the domesticdeveloping situation and trending, ending with the research meaning of the paper. With theanalysis of the manufacturing process of rotor inserting and the existing inserting machine,this paper designs the mechanotronics of the insert devices innovatively, introducinginnovative design of the rotating and positioning module, and the meterial sendingg themodeling calculation of step motor and cylinder of the rotating part of insert machine.Secondly detailed elaborating of the concept of3D modeling technology, the way of3Dmodeling, the solid modeling technology based on feature. Respectively introducing the usagemethod of each feature, and constructing the3D model of the main components. Through thestudy of virtual assembly technology, the paper elaborates the basic thought of virtualassembly technology in detail, and analyses the virtual assembly sequence of insert machine,with the virtual assembly technology, virtual assembling the rotating part, frame part, and thetop part of insert machine in the Solidworks. The paper also does the static interferencechecking of the integrated assembly model of insert machine with the interference checkfunction of Solidworks, in the end, with the function of generating exploded views ofSolidworks, generating the exploded views of the rotating part and the whole of insertmachine, imitating the assembling process of insert machine. Finally the paper also makes abrief introduction to the main function of the dynamic simulation software ADAMS of kinematic of machinery, with the dynamic simulation of the the material sending mechanis bythe ADAMS software, obtaining serial position curve, rate curve, accelerating curve,verifying the rationality of mechanism design.
