Consumers need technology products not only have complete function and use, but also have more better appearance of aesthetic、green、humane and so on. This situation requests that designers have a variety of knowledge for product design. This work originally analyzes the composition of design auxiliary knowledge, then researches database structure and matching algorithm and pushing method. Finally, a case study using application development of CAXA has been performed. Main topics studied in this paper are as follows:(1) The composition of the auxiliary knowledge is in the design for the mechanical design process.(2) Organizational methods of the auxiliary knowledge in design.(3) Knowledge are matched between tasks characteristics and the knowledge of Knowledge Base in the mechanical design process which using match algorithm of text similarity.(4) The auxiliary knowledge will be initiative to push by the example of" axis".The designers can get knowledge through the match process of the description of design process features in design and Knowledge Base timely and friendly with the system interface which greatly facilitates the use of knowledge in the design process, avoids errors of principle in design, saves product development time and improves design efficiency.
