With the development of electronic and communication technology, the power metersreading system has become a hot topic in the power industry. The study of smart powermeters reading system, not only can reduce the problems in traditional meter reading, such asthe wrong copy, leakage copy, estimate copy, but also help supply management unitscientifically calculate the loss. It greatly facilitates people daily life and the work of energymanagement sector, while increasing the effective allocation and utilization of energy. In thisthesis,designed data concentrator(DC) as a core part of the power meters reading system. Thespecifical work as follows:(1)Analyze the working principle and functional requirement for data concentrator. Forthe shortcomings of power meters reading system in China, propose a design based onembedded Linux, and determine hardware and software design.(2)According to the needs of the system, achieve the design includes power module,AC sampling module, RS485module, GPRS module, Ethernet module and LCD module,composite interface of Power Line Carrier and Wireless Communication through division ofthe overall hardware architecture. The wireless communication module achieves wirelesstransmission on downlink channel using networking technology.(3)Complete establishment of cross-compile environment transplantation of cross-compile environment,the porting of Bootloader and Linux kernel, and introduce theproduction process of root file system. On this basis,develop drivers application software.(4)Complete remote upgrade and meter test in the various means of communication.The system is designed to apply new technologies to the power industry, includeembedded Linux, GPRS, composite communication and adaptive networking technology. Itachieves collection, transmission, display and analysis of energy data with AT91SAM9261processing unit, GPRS and Ethernet as a remote transfer module, power line carrier andwireless module as downlink communication. The system takes full advantage of thepowerful management capabilities of AT91SAM9261and Linux, has a stable and reliable performance, and provides a new mean of electric information acquisition for the electricitysector.
