Thanks to the continuous improvement of the technological level, people’s quality of life has been greatly improved than before. Enhance the quality of life directly reflected in people’s home environment, the traditional home environment is difficult to meet people’s individual needs and experiential requirements, so the smart home technology was born. Key Technology Smart Home is to design an efficient and stable controller, and a smart home system also need to solve such problems as:complex wiring, inter-node communication, energy, diversity control and other issues. And this design reflects advantages of saving cabling, communication reliability, energy saving, personalized control and other aspects.Realization of this design is based on power line carrier technology and ARM embedded technology. Power line carrier technology for realizing the networking and communication between nodes, Echelon’s Neuron chip "PL3120" and ARM processor "S3C6410" were chosen..The main work includes:(1) Proposed the overall design scheme after analyzed the related technical.(2) Hardware design. Including the hardware circuits based on the ARM11 chip S3C6410, and power line carrier communication circuit board based on the power of the Neuron Chip PL3120.(3) Software design. Including build embedded Linux operating system and WEB server on S3C6410, design WEB application, transplant Dynamic Domain Name Server software; and design Qt application to achieve local operation.(4) Designed power line carrier communication network by LonMaker,. Written Neuron C application instructions for control of serial communication between the ARM and PL3120, as well as power line carrier terminal node implementation and monitoring data upload.After debugging,the system can be achieved appliance control and environmental monitoring functions under two ways.
