With the continuous rise of traffic accident related tire safety, exploitation of run-flat tirehas been highly regarded, Inner support run-flat tire system is composed by Inner support, rimand tire, which can’t influence ride comfort and handling stability in normal pressure, when inlow pressure because of tire burst, Inner support will support car-body load, make surevehicle still operate longer distance safely in certain speed range, Study and design of theInner support run-flat tire system have been conducted as follows:Firstly, requirements of Inner support structure design has been put forward bycontrasting the existent structures in home and abroad, based on different workingcharacteristic and force condition in normal and low pressure, general scheme of chain-plateInner support structure has been designed which is used on standard rim, size range of Innersupport has been provided by considering size of166.5Jrim,205/55R16tire and possibletire cavity space changes in operation. Then the model of Inner support run-flat tire system isestablished based on initial parameters.Secondly, Finite element static analysis on Inner support components by using ANSYShas been conducted according to the maximum load and speed in different working condition,on the basis, topology optimization has been carried out to ensure Inner support lightweighttransformation under the condition of satisfying strength requirement, compared the analysisresults of optimized structure to those before, It is shown that, it satisfies strength andstiffness requirements. By changing boundary conditions, response of Inner support versusdifferent load and speed in two working conditions have been obtained, compared the results,change trend of stress and deformation on each omponent versus speed and load areconcluded.Finally, according to two working conditions of Inner support run-flat tire system andpossible road operation conditions, dynamic analysis on high speed operation in normalpressure, drop process when tire burst and fluctuation road operation in low pressure arecarried out by using ANSYS/LS-DYNA, which further verify reliability of Inner support inhigh speed, influence of load on Inner support system in drop process and response of Innersupport system to fluctuation road have been obtained.
