In recent years, land of the city construction is becoming more and more nervous due to the rapid development of the city industrialization and commercialization. Many original buildings need the further extension of utilization area in order to satisfy the new material and cultural demand. In this case, adding stories on the original building becomes a good method to enlarge the area, and is the popular form in reinforcing and rebuilding the buildings at the present time. Our country is a earthquake multiple and heavy earthquake disaster nation, At the present time, the reinforcing and rebuilding of storey-addition building has on unified standard and code for seismic design, therefore, the research on the building structure seismic performance and seismic appraiser of the reinforcing and rebuilding of old building due to added story has very important practical meaning for avoiding or alleviating earthquake disaster.Firstly, analysis model and methods of seismic energy dissipation structure are summarized. Then, seismic performance in added story structure is compared. Nonlinear time history analysis under frequently occurred earthquake of the added story structure with energy dissipation device, dampers and isolation bearings and traditional method are conducted to study the seismic performance of different structure.Secondly, According to the characteristics of design method of expected damping ratio of structure equipped with energy dissipated devices, expected damping design procedure of the new system equipped with lead viscoelastic damper and buckling-restrained brace are established in the paper.Added story structure with energy dissipation technology is the production of combining seismic energy dissipation technology and added sotry. It has many virtues, such as definitude seismic mechanism, excellent seismic effect and minor influence on building function. Analyzed on the added-story reinforcing and rebuilding structure with energy dissipation technology must have a positive action on application of seismic energy dissipation technology.
