Cast-steel joints have been widely used with the development of the large spanspatial structure. This kind of joint is beautiful、adaptable and freedom design. Butit put forward higher requirement on manufacturing process and installationaccuracy. There are still gaps in casting process between domestic and foreignadvanced level So China specification proposes to carry out the model test, whichhas a major impact on the structural safety of cast joints.Though the full-scale test and finite element analysis, the plate case-steel joint,used in canopy without pillars on the platform in Hangzhou Dong station, whichmechanical performance was researched under four directions axial forces. Bycomparing the calculated surface stresses with those obtained from the experiment,the whole stress distribution of the cast-steel joints was get. By contrasting thebearing capacity and evaluating the safety by yield criterion,it shows that the jointbearing capacity does not depend on the central basis. Test results show that theevaluation by FEM method was validated and the bearing capacity of cast-steeljoint is high.By analyses and compared of the static nonlinear finite element analysis model,of two kinds joint under the test conditions; the yield process of the cast steel jointand the central rainwater pipe’s impact on ultimate bearing ability are get.Orthogonal test based on the finite element model, analysis of the diff-erences of structure parameters’ contribution to the ultimate bearing capacity, andoptimize the cast steel joint design parameters. The results showed that: the rationalallocation of the structural parameters of the cast steel nodes, to optimize thedesign.The research for the plate cast steel joint could provide a reference to thedesign and construction..
