Compared with the traditional structure, the high-rise steel residential buildings hasmany significant advantages that it is not only fit for the people to live but also reduces thedestruction of resources and the environment. Therefore, the prospects for the developmentof high-rise steel structure residential buildings are very broad. Based on the preparation ofthe relevant procedures, the purpose of this thesis is to provide some suggestions forstructure selection and design of high-rise steel structure residential construction.Firstly, this thesis introduces the structural system of high-rise steel structureresidential in some aspects such as the layout of the form, force-deformation, the wholecharacteristics and the scope of each structural system. In order to meet the requirements ofthe earthquake, the residential which have different site categories and different heightcan choose different structural systems, the most obvious difference in different structuralsystems is the size of the resistance to lateral. In addition, the selection of the structuralsystem should also consider the building size, construction costs and other factors.Then, this paper introduces the theory of high-rise steel structure. Seismic design is animportant part of the high-rise steel structure residential design process. At present, thebasic calculation methods of seismic design are base shear method, response spectrum andtime history analysis method. In addition, it also includes the basic principle of thePushover analysis method and the analysis step in SAP2000.Finally, this paper establish a three-dimensional finite element mode by using theprototype of the high-rise steel structure residential which include three structural systemsof steel frame such as the steel frame, steel frame–support and the shear wall model, and italso include the analysis such as the modal analysis, spectral analysis and linear timehistory analysis of the reaction under earthquakes about8degree in SAP2000. TheComparison of three structural responses under seismic action is to analyze thecharacteristics in the earthquake.
