Residual current operated protective device plays an important role in the guarantee of thesafety of electricity, which can prevent electrical fire, personal electric shock and electricalequipment damage caused by leakage. With the application of electronic devices, there generatesmore residual pulsating direct current component in electric network. When the lines orequipment occurs leakage accident, there generates a Type A leakage current. Howevertraditional residual current operated protective device is designed for AC leakage current, andmay refuse to move.This paper researchesType A leakage protection technology and designs a Type A residualcurrent operated protective device. Its core is DSP chip (TMS320F28335) and it achieves datacollection, pre-processing, processing, tacking action. This design can improve the detectionaccuracy and reliability of type A residual operated protective device. This paper also designs avisualization control platform based on the LabVIEW. Through the SCI realize the transmissionof information between DSP and PC. In the actual project we can replace SCI with GPRS orfield bus to achieve remote monitoring of low-voltage electrical appliances.This paper describes the development, primary segment, function of the residual currentoperated protective, and explains design process in detail. Main work is below:1Use FFT transform converted A leakage signal from the time domain to the frequencydomain, and achieve valid identification of the leakage signal2Research and design the hardware systems and detailed description of the MCU module,JTAG module, power module and signal conditioning module.3Design the software systems, introduce the general idea of the software design, and drawthe system flowchart.4Design human-computer interaction LabVIEW interface, it realizes real-time monitoringcapabilities of the Type A residual current operated protective device.5Conduct related experiments to verify the feasibility of the system and achieve the desiredresults. It proves this residual current operated protective device can reliable action to Type Aleakage current.
