The permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) is now playing an increasinglyimportant role in electric propulsion area for its advantages over traditional motors. Theinformation of rotor position and speed is indispensable to any PMSM control system. Toobtain these feedbacks, an optical encoder or hall sensor is used in most application.Nevertheless, many applications cannot use these feedback devices for the space or weightlimitations, as well as potential reliability problem. For the past decades, a lot of researchworks had been focused on Sensor-less PMSM Control System.This Paper’s task is to design a well performed Sensor-less PMSM Control System.1. Analyze the mathematical model of PMSM. Study and compare differentapproaches for PMSM control.2. Study and analyze different methods for sensor-less control strategy.3. Build mathematical model for the proposed Luenberger observer. Build Simulinkmodel for the designed method and run simulation to verify that the proposedmethod is applicable on the theory level.4. Design and develop real world sensor-less PMSM controller. Through theexperiments, it is obvious that the proposed method is also applicable on the realworld level.A summary and conclusion is brought up at the end of this paper. And a guideline forthe future task on this project is made.
