The Research On The Traditional Settlement Pattern And The Renewal And Protective Plan With The Wufu Old Town For Example

The traditional settlement shows the variety of historical traditionand geographical features of Chinese living environment because of itsarchitectural style, and it is precious historical and cultural heritage. Butthe progress of modern society and the changes of lifestyle bring strongimpact to traditional culture, which makes the traditional settlement facedeclining and dilapidated. The research on traditional settlement andconstruction and spatial morphology can not only protect the traditionalsettlement and its architectural form, but also continue the city andregional characteristics of architecture effectively if we extract theregional architecture elements to do the contemporary architecturaldesign.The Wufu old town has profound culture and rich folk custom,which is an important part of Wuyishan "world cultural heritage". Thesettlements layout and traditional architectural form of the Wufu old townshow the unique regional characteristics. The research team led byProfessor Guanruiming made the design to protect of ancient town andsucceed made the town declared a national historical and cultural town.The author participated in the whole process of surveying and mappingresearch to the planning and design.The topics choose the Wufu old town traditional settlement as theobject to research the settlement spatial formation process, in order togive some planning and design thoughts to protect and use the settlementpatterns of Wufu old town. The paper mainly includes four parts, anddivided into six chapters to expound itThe first part is the introduction. First of all, there is the introductionof the research background and objects, what’s more, the analysis of thepurpose and significance of the research in this paper. And then, domestic and international research profile and problems is introduced. Finally,there are the research method and theoretical framework of the research.The second part is the main body of research and analysis, whichincluding the second, the third and the fourth chapters. It is a researchtopic of comprehensive introduction to the research. The second chapterintroduce the natural and humanistic characteristics of Wufu old town,including natural conditions, historical evolution, social economy andculture inheritance. The third chapter summarizes the traditionalsettlement form of Wufu old town, including the overall layout,settlement group, street space and landscape elements such as the contentof four levels.
