Nowadays, the production style of automotive industry has been changed gradually andflexible small batch production becomes main production mode. In the meantimeautomotive parts company use modularized product to improve the service level to vehicleOEM. To meet the variable requirement of the market and self-development, automotivemodule parts suppliers pay more and more attention to improvement of the wholeefficiency of production line and synchronous production under flexible assembly linemode. Line balance rate is a popular index for the company to make the assessment on anassembly line, and it in some way also affects the equipment operation rate and linecapability.First, this paper has recounted the theory of the flexible line balance and evaluatingmethod for it. Then by the theory, the paper has recounted the detail methods to improvethe line balance. For the line B of T Company which we mainly discuss in this paper, weanalyzed the line balance situation to know bottleneck by STD production time sheet andfind out some improving chance in process, operation, human engineering and logisticssequence method. The paper has practised the industry engineering method such as ECRSprinciple (Eliminate, Combine, Rearrange, and Simplify), man-machine analysis andbrainstorming to adjust operation content, some production fixture and logistics sequencemethod. During the improvement, we make the operation cycle reach unanimity andimprove the stability and line balance rate of the line B.
