With the rapid development of automobile industry and the increase of vehicleownership, the pressure of energy and environment is increasing day by day,Researchand development of a new vehicle technology with low emission and low fuel con-sumption is imperative. Hybrid vehicles which have high efficiency and low pollutionare considered to be an important technology of resolving energy and environmentalissues, and have attracted many national governments and automobile enterprises tofocus on them.As an important direction of hybrid vehicles energy efficiency optimization tech-nique, automatic shift technology draws more and more attention. Therefore, this the-sis chooses fuel cell hybrid city bus with an automated mechanical transmission as theresearch object. Considering the vehicle control strategy and energy management al-gorithm, research on shift control algorithm is developed.Considering the fuel cell city bus system structure and the development of in-tegrated electric control unit in distributed control system, the vehicle control unit ischosen to realize shift control algorithm. A non-clutch automatic shift control processis proposed.Based on the analysis of break energy regeneration and motor efficiency, a doubleparameters shift strategy for hybrid city bus is proposed. And considering automobilesafetyanddiverfeelings,adecisionsupportsystemisdesigned. Bothofthemconstitutethe shift decision system. The simulation results show that the shift decision systemcan make the city bus be satisfied the dynamic performance requirements of China busurban cycle, reduce the vehicle energy consumption and improve the economy.According to the principle of non-clutch automatic shift process, a shift processcontrolalgorithmisdesignedtoensurethattheautomaticshiftprocesscanbecompletedsmoothly. The bench test results show that the automatic shift process can successfullycompleted and shift quality are ideal. Therefore, the feasibility and reliability of shift control algorithm is proved.
