Aircraft Overhaul Lean Project Management Research And Practice

Since the intensification of the competition of the current domestic civil aviationtransportation market, the aviation maintenance industry is now booming. In the rapiddevelopment, many problems were exposed, which requires us to further improve themanagement model of civil aviation aircraft maintenance, optimize and enhance thelevel of civil aviation aircraft maintenance management. Airlines and civil aviationmaintenance units hope to ensure the safety of aircraft, meanwhile improving theeconomy, such as improving the maintenance efficiency, reducing the aircraft parkingtime, and reducing the maintenance costs. Therefore, how to construct and perfect thecivil aircraft maintenance management system has become the urgent study andproblems to be solved in China civil aviation aircraft maintenance industry.Today, the aircraft maintenance status in China is still in the confusion, theunclear division, low efficience, the growing demand of aviation industry andbackward maintenance capability of the contradiction is increasingly outstanding, itmakes the maintenance support departments are under the heavy pressure onresources. Therefore, we need more advanced maintenance technologies and moreefficient maintenance management model to be introduced in the aviation industrypractice.Lean management theory is currently one of the most advanced manufacturingmanagement model. This article describes the origin, connotation and implementationtools of lean management, and explains the contents and characteristics of the aircraftmaintenance, also combines with the domestic aircraft maintenance overhaulexamples to analyse the problems in the current domestic maintenance plant, deeplydiscuss the necessity of lean management in aircraft overhaul work. To combine withthe lean management in6S, business process reengineering, Kanban management,standard operation and continuous improvement tools, and to propose the feasiblesolution, as well as the next step needs to solve the problem.This article concludes that to implement the lean management in the aircraftoverhaul plant can be more effectively optimize the maintenance management process,shorten aircraft overhaul cycle, reduce maintenance costs and improve the quality ofmaintenance. In this study, The research on aircraft maintenance plant implementinglean management has certain guildance.
