At present of the world, there are already more than300subway lines in100cities, witha total length of over6000km. In China mainland, in cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou,Shenzhen, Tianjin, Nanjing, and so on, mass of rail transit construction has been carried out.In recent years, metro safety accident happens frequently, and the particularity and thevulnerability of the subway security work become increasingly prominent. In the subwaystation, as personnel intensive place, once accident happens, the behavior of passengers wouldbe hard to control, which will make evacuation extremely difficult. Therefore, how toorganize passengers to evacuate to safe area reasonably and rapidly is a significant problemfor metro operation department to solve.The analysis of safety evacuation under emergency such as fire in the subway stationinvolves many aspects of the research content, for example, personnel evacuation behavior,psychology, the station evacuation capacity, fire danger state and so on. At present, theanalysis of evacuation behavioral characteristics under fire, for instance, route choice,walking speed, safety consciousness, is still rare and lack of systematic the domestic subwaypassengers for fire evacuation route choice, walking speed, safety consciousness and thepsychological.According to the connotation of the safety consciousness, combining with the results ofother researchers and the specific conditions of the subway environment, questionnaire isdesigned about safety behavior and psychology of the subway crowd. Through questionnaireof the subway passengers, the statistical analysis has been made about safety awareness andevacuation behavior characteristics of the different gender, age, record of formal schooling ofpassengers; This paper puts forward the method of spot observation of evacuation behavior ofpassengers, and through the passenger evacuation behavior at A station of Beijing metro line1,statistics of normal evacuation time and different people evacuation speed also is made; Inthis paper by BuildingExodus model, passenger evacuation is simulated in platform train fireof Beijing metro line1A station, and emergency evacuation ability is researched. Theseresearch results will provide useful support on evacuation behavior characteristic research andboundary conditions setting to BuildingExodus model.
