Investigation With Statistics Of Highway ETC System And The Study On Its Operation Problem In China

In order to solve the increasingly outstanding problem of traffic congestion, fuelresources waste, environmental pollution caused by emissions, ETC system in foreign wasreferenced and introduced. However, ETC system developed rapidly in recent years in China;some projects have might been carried out in some provinces and cities earlier, besides it alsohave been into the application stage with large scale resulting to situation of "advantage notoptimal" in ETC system.Combining with the study of development of ETC system in foreign, this paper analyzedthe problems about ETC system’s promotion, product reliability and so on emerged in ETCsystem operation; besides investigated with statistics of the development and operationcondition of ETC system in some provinces in recent years whose statistical platform washighway traffic charge database. On the basis of detailed data, this paper analyzed thecondition of service of ETC lanes and its frequency law used by highway electronic tags usersstatistically, and studied the operation characteristics of provincial ETC network of highway.Finally, the suggestion for positive development of ETC system in some provinces wasprovided in this paper. This paper argued that the development of the ETC system should takeits user’s actual needs as the guide, that performance surface of electronic tags should beexpanded orderly, and that the construction of ETC lanes should be promoted gradually, all ofwhich would make ETC system developed healthily and orderly in China.
