It considers the problems in both sides of ensuring thecorrectness of data of area transportation burden by highway traffic and data of area transportation burden by highway traffic.After the introduction and analysis of the history and actuality of area transportation burden by highway traffic, the thesis generalizes the foreign experiences of area transportation burden by highway traffic which would be used for reference for our nation. Then, it defines area transportation burden by highway traffic in needs and scales. In the definition of survey scale, it raises the concept of area transportation burden by highway traffic based on highway-net geography zone bit and makes the scale into two types, vehicle membership and geographical location in net.According as the result of determination, investigation method for area transportation burden by highway traffic could be divided into basic investigation and consolidate investigation.
