Currently, the modified asphalt mixture were widely used in the majority of high-classasphalt pavement, so the consumption of modifier is getting larger and larger. But the price ofmodifer is higher, so it is essential to control the reasonable amount of modifier. thereasonable amount of modifier is that the amount is not only cheap but also meet the structualand functional demand. This paper analyzes the influence of dosage of SBS modifer on thepavement properties of the mixture and elaborates the method of defining the reasonableamount of modifer though testing the performance of AC-20SBS modified asphalt mixtureand fuzzy mathematics comprehensive evaluation method.Firstly, this paper expounds the indoor preparation method of SBS modified asphalt binder,tests the performance of raw materials of AC-20modified asphalt mixture. Besides, thispaper has designed the proportion of modified asphalt mixture though the proportion of themineral admixture by Bailey method and optimal asphalt aggregate ratio by the Marshall testmethod. The study tests the mechanical properties of different SBS dosage of asphalt mixture,such as compressive strength, modulus of compression and shear strength. In view of theoverall situation, the mechanical properties of asphalt mixture increases with increasingdosage of SBS. This paper tests the high-temperature stability of different SBS dosage ofasphalt mixture by Marshall stability test, Rutting test and uniaxial static load creep test andgets the conclusion that the high-temperature stability of asphalt mixture increases withincreasing dosage of SBS. The evaluation of high-temperature stability has become moreimpersonal and accurate though the comprehensive testing. This paper analyzes themechanism of the crack caused by low temperature of pavement and evaluate the lowtemperature performance of different SBS dosage of asphalt mixture by bending test of smallbeam. At the same time, the energy of breaking the beam was calculated with the figure offorce and displacement which was used to evaluate the low-temperature anti-crackingperformance in the perspective of energy. The low-temperature anti-cracking performance isthe best in the SBS dosage of4.5%. Besides, anti-water damage ability of different SBSdosage of asphalt mixture was analysed from both bond property of the asphalt binder and asphalt mixture itself anti-water damage ability. At last, this research test severalperformances of different SBS dosage of asphalt mixture, such as the aging-resistance,fatigue resistibility impermeability and workability. The economy of different SBS dosage ofasphalt mixture was been dealed with minutely. In the end, the5.0%SBS is determined thebest dosage which has the best comprehensive property by the fuzzy mathematicscomprehensive evaluation method. Through the above analysis and calculation, we recognizethat fuzzy mathematics comprehensive evaluation method can be used as a effective methodto determine the reasonable amount of modifer.
