Study On The Design Of Highway Toll Station

As an important part of the highway, the highway toll station is the necessary way toenter and exit from the highway. It’s vehicle passing capacity and the level service directlyaffect the highway’s vehicle passing capacity and the level service. It aslo affects the socialimage of the highway.This thesis summarizes the relevant provisions of the highway toll station using themethod of data collection, investigation, comparative analysis and systems analysis. On thebasis of comprehensive consideration of affecting the design factors, the thesis studys the tollstation of the approprite site arrangement, the scale size, the flat vertical and horizontal design,and the pavement design in order to achieve the purpose of saving investment, passing safetyand quicklymeeting the charging function under the premise of meeting the charging function.The thesis studys the toll plaza design including the toll plaza design principles, linear designelements, and logo identity design, which includs the aspects of the linear design features, thelongitudinal, and cross section, the transition section, the length and width of the square andthe plaza pavement. It focuses on the design of the toll lane including the calculation of trafficvolume, service time and service level. It aslo systematic analysis the vehicle service timedata of Qingdao toll station which lies on the Qingdao to Yinchuan highway in order toexplore the distribution rule of the closed toll system’s service time. In addition, the thesisdetailed study the design of the toll island and toll booths, which includs layout and designrelated requirements.Through studying on the highway toll station, the thesis firstly proposes that it shouldoptimize the design based on the the main project’s design requirements and the trafficcoordination between the main line and the ramp of Interchange when designing the highwaytoll station. Secondly the thesis proposes it should focus on the forecasting of the economictrends, analysising the changes of the road network structure, collecting the road trafficinformation, rational planning the toll station site, taking full use of existing resources. ItPoints out that reasonable setting the quantities of the lanes is an important part of the tollplaza design. The design should focus on collecting the traffic and service time data. In order to ensure the safety and smoothness of highway traffic, the thesis proposes to establish thecontingency fee system, use portable charging machine or mobile power station.
