Micro-turbine generator technology has been one of key technology of the power source system in the21st century, in which the excitation control system is an important component. The excitation control system plays an essentially important role during the running of the generator. Hence, the study of the excitation control system has become a hotspot in the region of generator control and also the major issue of the micro-turbine generator control system. With the development of modern power electronics and microelectronics technologies, the digital excitation control system has been widely used in the generator control.This thesis develops a micro-turbine excitation control system with the SCM-dsPIC30F6010A embedded, based on the project of micro-turbine excitation control system design which was developed by Electric Automation Institute of Northeastern University and Shenyang Aerospace Xinguang Group. An Implementing plan of the hardware and software is provided in the thesis. Eventually, a PID parameters tuning method based on Particles Swarm Optimization is proposed in order to enhance the control effect and expand the application of the system. The main works of the thesis are shown bellow.(1) Studying the basic principles of Micro-turbine generator, modeling and simulating with Matlab. Assess the control effect during the simulation.(2) The hardware of the excitation control system based on dsPIC30F6010A is developed, including minimum System, power supply circuit, parameters measuring circuit, digital input/output circuit, IGBT driving circuit, USB communication circuit, excitation system main circuit.(3) The software was developed based on the existing hardware, including the main control program, parameters measuring program, PID control program, USB communication program. Combining the hardware and software, an effective control is carried on by measuring the parameters of the generator.(4) A PID parameters tuning method based on Particles Swarm Optimization added in the control policy of the excitation control system is proposed to optimize the control effect.The excitation control system designed in this thesis has achieved a satisfying control effect in the field commissioning, and all the testing results have fulfill the designing requirements.
