As the industrial field environment of uncertainty and complexity of production process is relatively high, so the power system control, stability, timeliness, scalability and security all have very high requirements, and PLC control system through its own features can satisfy these requirements. In the chemical industry the system requirements of security and stability particularly, the control system to better meet the technical requirements, often redundant to the system configuration.In this paper, the design of a company in Beijing methanol production unit compressor control system for the study, based on the methanol production process control system requirements, system analysis of a set of mature compressor control system features, application of GE’s GMR as a core control system, the compressor’s interlocking, anti-surge, governor and other control requirements analysis, design of a GMR-based triple redundancy of the compressor of an integrated control system.This system is involved much in the control process and it is a very complex control system. For example, the system compressor interlock program designed to achieve the unit’s safety features start and emergency stop. According to centrifugal compressor surge, designs anti-surge control system, in order to control the turbine speed, the design of the turbine system and so on. These are part of the integrated control system. Among them, the core of the compressor control section is used by companies to use the standard GE Fanuc PLC, the system for emergency shutdown system ESD (Emergency Shutdown Device), and fire and gas protection and development of a triple-redundant control system of the solution, is called Genius modular fault-tolerant system GMR. The system has strong fault tolerance, when there is some failure, the system performs the task of GMR after the vote, and the implementation of the results are not due to system failures in a variety of errors. GMR is GE’s90-70series CPU and the Genius series of input and output modules, and other parts of modules. Methanol plant in the compressor control system of the project will be used based on the Genius bus Triple Redundant control system.The traditional PID control parameters tuning adjustment process of a long time, it is difficult to achieve optimal control effect of PID on the software design improvements have been made. Using adaptive fuzzy PID algorithm, fuzzy rules based on established parameters of traditional PID tuning, the algorithm has fast response, small overshoot, do not rely on accurate mathematical model, strong adaptability and robustness advantages.Which in practical operation, the system reflects its high safety, high reliability, high fault tolerance, highly flexible characteristics. System works well to meet the demand for methanol production process. And that based on the GMR of the ESD design is applied to compressor control system based success stories.
