With the development of industiralization, the transportation of large industrialequipment becomes increasingly urgent. However, due to the technical problems aswell as lack of effective regulations, to carry out large equipment transportationrequires further study and close attention. Based on the research work done on thetransportation of the generators of Xishui-Erlang power plant, the thesis mainly dealswith the safety and stability of highway embankment slope under the condition ofoverloading. The thesis begins with a general introduction of the current situation and the futuredevelopment\of large equipment transportation, with special focus on the diiffculties inthe process. Afterwards, ifeld survey is conducted in mountainous area to ifnd out thecondition of roads, and the condition of slope-roads is the key point in this part, thusfurther study on slope stability under weight can be carried out.Upon the analysis of the slope stability, the Spencer Method of Dr. Chen Zuyu isemployed to approach the overloading problem. A slope-road is selected and asimulation experiment is conducted to analyze the mechanic forces and the deformationprocess the slope undergoes; the results is further studied within a finite-element case, where the slope edges and the soil parameters are fixed and relatively accurate. Thus thefinal reduction factor is obtained, and it helps to evaluate the large equipmenttransportation system.According to the results, research is conducted about two slopes with oppositedirections; the ground-beairng capacity and the capacity against overturning arecalculated. Results show that, under overloading conditions, the stability of themortar and stone is reliable. To summarize, this thesis is based on the analysis of mountainous roads conditionand the simulation expeirment about the slope stability in large equipmenttransportation process, duirng which the Spencer Method is employed and the model issimpliifed to be a finite-element case. The results contirbute to the evaluation system ofthe slope-road under weight.
