Straddle-type monorail car has some characteristics of locomotive, also similardriver mode of the car. It is necessary and pioneering to have a simulation andoptimization for the dynamic and economic performance. The purpose of this paper issimulating the three evaluation indicators of the monorail car dynamic performance,and optimizing the matching analysis of the drive system parameters, combiningenergy consumption during operation and its average speed in the running section, andthe main work is as follows:1. The dynamic and economic evaluation index system for straddle-type monorailcar has been introduced.2. The characteristic curve of AC induction traction motor has been simulated bystudying the mechanical properties, work status as well as speed control which is usedin the monorail car drive mode.3. According to the main power transmission line of monorail car, the dynamicsimulation model which is based on GT-DRIVE has been built, and the dynamicperformance indicators of monorail car has been simulated and energy consumptioncurve has been drew as well, all of this provided the basis for calculation for theoptimization in follow up.4. Based on modeFRONTIER, a multiple objective optimization model has beenbuilt which used the transmission ratio as the design variable, standing startacceleration time as the dynamic target, energy consumption in constant velocity runtime as economic goal, and other related dynamic performance indicators asconstraints.5. Combined with GT-DRIVE and modeFRONITIER, results which satisfying theconstraints have been got by using of DOE analysis and multiple objective geneticalgorithm as the optimization strategy, on this basis, after considering Pareto optimalsolution and, finally, the appropriate powertrain parameter has been determinedaccording the actual situation.
