Suspen-dome structures are symbol and importance of the buildings asgenerally. At present,they have been successfully used in the number of importantpractical engineerings at home and abroad, as an important public facilities places,if it collapsed or damaged, It will bring a catastrophic loss for the state and people,consequences would be disastrous. Therefore,study on damping control of thelong-span suspen-dome structures under the three-dimensional seismic, and it has agood economy, practicality and safety, this is not only for future theoreticalresearch and practical engineering design applications provide an importantreference value, but also for the protection of life and property safety, economicdevelopment is of great significance.To reduce the effect of three-dimensional seismic of the long-spansuspen-dome structures’seismic response, assurance that such structures understrong earthquake still meet multidimensional comfort of use, structure normaluse, safety and interior important decorative and important equipments againstdamage and other requirements. Support for long-span suspen-dome structure’issu-es for light weight, large span, often leads to lack of rigidity, the structure moreflexible, damping control of lag and so on, in this paper, a span of93meters of K6 type suspen-dome structure calculation model is established, on the basis ofcomparative analysis the K6type suspen-dome structure of one-dimensional andmulti-dimensional seismic response,under the three-dimensional seismic, the K6type suspen-dome structure with viscous damper with additional rod passivecontrol of the damping effect is analysised by time-history analysis method,other,damping parameters is analysised for the structure, different additionalposition of damper, different damping, structural different-span were consideredon effect of the damping. The results show that viscous damper with additional rodof the K6type suspen-dome structure of the damping effect is very good. It issuitable for large-span suspen-dome structure of the damping system. Theselection of the different damping parameters, the different effect of dampingcontrol for the structural, reasonable selection of damping parameters can greatlyimprove the structure of the passive vibration control effect.To further verify the reliability of the conclusions, to the badminton hall ofthe Olympic Games2008for the actual engineering background, sunflower5-typesuspen-dome structure finite element model is established, under thethree-dimensional seismic, the structure with viscous damper by additional rodpassive control of the damping effect is analysised by time-history analysis method,other, damping parameters is analysised for the structure, different additional position of damper, different damping, structural different-span were consideredon effect of the damping too. The results show that viscous damper with additionalrod of the sunflower5-type suspen-dome structure of the damping effect is verygood. It is suitable for large-span sunflower5-type sus-pen-dome structureof thedamping system.For different structural forms of the suspen-dome, as long asreasonable selection of damping parameters, are able to achieve good control ofthe passive damping effect.
