60years of development after the foundation of New China had seen great achievement in the auto industry of China, especially after the reform and opening up, when the world auto enterprises entered the domestic market, the real competitive time for the industry did come along. Nevertheless, China’s auto industry has successfully developed into a complete industrial system with higher production capacity, quality and various kinds of auto products lines. Quality, technology, service and price become key factors in the competition.The suspension is the main part of modern car, which can connect the frame (body) and the axle (wheel) elastically and smoothly. Its main function is to transfer all of the forces between the frame and the wheel, alleviate the impact of impulsive load generated by the uneven road on the bearing system, and make sure the body of the car is made up of the elastic elements, guide mechanism and the vibration damping device. Elastic elements are mainly leaf springs, coil springs, rubber spring, air spring and oil gas spring.In addition to support the weight and load of the car, the spring has to support the impulsive load generated by the vehicle moving on uneven surface, and therefore cause a unidirectional cyclic bending stress. In the invalid way of spring, the most common way is fatigue fracture and permanent plastic deformation. The factors that affect the quality of leaf spring are design, installation, lubrication and practical method, but, the heat treatment and surface quality are the main reasons. To guarantee and improve the quality of heat treatment, we must strengthen quality management, improve the quality management system. Improving the quality of products in China’s economical development has become a strategic question, which is also an important measurement in the business competition.Reform and opening up30years, China automobile plate spring market size, total from rapid expansion to the structure significantly upgrade, and gradually formed a has the Chinese characteristic the diversified and multi-level automobile plate spring market. But in2010, especially in the "crisis era" a series of new problem is becoming more and more obvious, the market analysis in the specific performance:the technology is relatively backward, the product compatibility poor. Lack of funds, shortage of resources; Manufacturing equipment, is not easy to digest. Against the above background and based on the technology of leaf spring, this paper carried on the empirical analysis through the actual production process and the entire quality-control management to improve the design and quality of spring.Firstly, the article introduces the function and the classification of the suspension, which leads to the classification of automobile leaf spring and the main parts and material selection.Secondly, the parameters of automobile leaf spring were introduced and analyzed in great detail. In this chapter, the calculation method and design procedure of single plate spring and the multi-leaf spring are demonstrated.Thereafter the actual production technology of the leaf spring is analyzed in detail by the introduction of corresponding equipment performance and technical parameters, especially of how to use and test the equipment to save the manufacturing cost and improving product quality.Finally, based on the knowledge and field experience of spring management accumulated over the years of production, the author analyzes the reason and cause of some common cases and special cases during the leaf spring production process, introduces the specific reform measures, which paves great foundation for producing higher quality steel plate spring.
