Brushless DC Motor (BLDCM) with it’s high efficiency, long life, low noise and good speed torque characteristic advantages, has been widely applied in daily life and production in many areas. Especially in the pure electric vehicle and hybrid electric vehicle field, as the car’s power system components, has been widely studied and applied. The Z-Source Network converter has boosted range, allowed to shoot-through the advantages, Using its application in battery powered fields especially in electric and hybrid vehicles, which can not only reduce battery quantity reduces the cost, and can save the electric car in the limited space resources to improve the energy utilization efficiency.In addition the Z-Source Network allows the control process is inserted into the shoot-through capacity to avoid the upper and lower bridge arm short circuit caused by system security risks in traditional control, to increase the system’s safety performance.This paper at first introduced the characteristics and development status of Z-Source converter, comparison with traditional converter. On basis of Z-Source concepts, analysis of Z-Source converter working mode, as well as the Z source relative to the traditional converter the different control method and a kind of abnormal working state. On this basis analysis of the BLDCM working state and speed regulation method, that BLDCM drive system based on the Z-Source converter has the feasibility of design. After the traditional brushless DC motor speed control system analysis and comparison, based on the Z-Source converter for BLDCM drive system, and a detailed study of the system’s three working state. Built in MATLAB/SIMULINK system simulation model, gives the model of Z-Source Network capacitance and inductance design method study based on PWM modulation mode control strategy. Through the analysis simulation results of BLDCM drive system based on the Z-Source converter feasibility of design. Realize the BLDCM has smooth speed and good dynamic performance and the ability of resisting disturbance, reached the boost DC bus voltage and BLDCM control integrated control system.At the end of the article gives the main circuit and control section design of hardware circuit and software flow chart of main part and test results.
