When operating and monitoring a power system, monitoring the temperature ofenergized equipment critical parts is a regular and important task, and also a basis for devicestatus assessment and operating response, usually it’s used in main transformers, isolationswitches, wiring and equipment connectors, etc. Temperature monitoring has been animportant means of protection running equipment and prevention diffusion accidents,however, being limited to the technical equipment level, the monitoring is still manual.Obviously, comparing to the status quo that, power system is highly automated anddigitized, there is a big gap. With the power system of increasingly large and complicated,traditional temperature monitoring method is difficult to meet the operational requirements,it’s urgently to find an upgrading thermometry technology, for meeting meet the grid futuredevelopment trends. Based on above, the author has expanded wireless temperaturemonitoring technology research.Wireless temperature monitoring technology background, and the comparison ofwireless temperature measurement and ordinary thermometer, infrared thermometer, opticalfiber thermometer, is introduced firstly, the advantages and disadvantages of passivewireless temperature monitoring with active wireless temperature measurement are furtherdemonstrated, too. After citing the results of the research at home and abroad, the authorproposes the research focuses on wireless temperature monitoring technology of this paper.On this basis, wireless temperature monitoring technology and equipment is elaboratedfrom the three aspects of working principles, solutions and technical characteristics. Apractical application reference of wireless temperature monitoring techniques in substationsand power distribution room has demonstrated the feasibility, practicality and advance.Finally, the application economic and social benefits of wireless temperature monitoringtechnology have been shown through data analysis. The conclusion of this paper, and therecognition for the development of wireless temperature monitoring technology, isindicated.
