Power transmission and transformation has been greatly developed since2000. From110kV,220kV to500kV,750kV and even1100kV, the development of these projects shows the the improvement of people and the progress of electric power project. The same as the national developing trend, Jiangsu power grid has also developed well. Many cities include Taizhou have set up shcedules to carry out recent transmission&transformation projects due to the requirement of the industry production and people’s life.This paper designs the220kV Yuma transmission&transformation project and obtains the achivements as follows:(1) System scheme designThe power line distribution scheme, the system protection scheme, the distant action scheme and the communication scheme are designed.(2) Power transformer substation designThe geogrophy review and the scheme comparison are firstly taken, based on which the conection scheme of the main electric lines, the equipment selection, the general area arange, the protection scheme, the construction scheme, etc. are designed.(3) Transmission path selection and designBased on the analysis of the project’s general transmission line situation, several transmission pathes are presented and compared with each other. The influence of the path scheme on the project are considered. Meanwhile, the transmission lines, the ground lines and the tower types are also designed.(4) Common project problem prevention plan and cost evaluationThe project problem prevention plans on the earth device setting, high voltage equipment setting, transmission line distribution&quality, and fire prevention are presented. At the same time, the project cost is also evaluated.The presented study offers a reference for the design and plan of other high voltage transmission projects and therefore has active meaning.
