Thermal power plant is the main form of electricity production in China, but coal combustion brings to lot of CO2emissions. To reduce the CO2emissions from power plant, O2/CO2combustion technology has already begun to be a clean coal technology to be extensively studied. Compared to conventional pulverized coal combustion boiler, the oxy-coal fired boiler has the similar processes and equipment and has good business prospects. At present, this power generation technology is still in pilot phase, because there are many problems to be studied. These problems is one of the issues which power companies are most concerned about, including unit system integration, performance, optimization and automatic control, which are closely related to safe and economic operation. In addition to the different combustion and heat transfer mechanism, the oxy-coal fired boiler has increased the number of equipment systems, such as air separation unit, CO2recycling system and CO2recovery system. The oxy-coal fired boiler has more complex systems and processes, compared with the conventional pulverized coal boiler. Therefore, to guarantee the oxy-coal fired boiler unit’s safe and economic operation, it is important to study the overall operating characteristics and its variation.Based on the integrated modular modeling software(IMMS) and the method of decomposing and integrating models of the complex systems, the oxy-coal fired boiler unit is divided into the furnace, water system, wind and smoke system and milling system. And these subsystems are broken down into various equipments and process aspects. Through simplifying the various equipments and process aspects and establishing the mathematical equations, the general algorithm models are established. The new Simulation algorithms include combustion model, furnace radiation model, single-phase heat exchanger model, oxygen preheater model and flue gas preheater model and so on.Based on the concept design of300MW oxy-coal fired boiler and its system components and process, through calling and integrating the algorithms, the simulation model of the oxy-coal fired boiler unit was established. The dynamic characteristic and static characteristics are studied through Simulation tests. It can provide reference for control system design and optimal operation of the oxy-coal fired boiler.
