Configuration software has the merits of convenience, high reliability, good expansibility and generality. The design idea and method of configuration software help to develop more advanced simulation software for aero-engines with the advantages of modularizing, expansibility, generality and towarding the end-user. To build a specialized configuration simulation platform for aero-engines, the aero-engine configuration modeling and simulation technology is studied in this paper.Firstly, overall solution and system processes of configuration software for aero-engine modeling are designed according to the real demand, after the architecture and data flow of the industrial configuration software are analyzed. The system includes the engine component library, the graphical interface system, the real-time database system and the model running system.A common component library is designed for simulation of varieties types of engines after the structures of different engine models are compared and analyzed. All of the components'models are developed based on COM technology.Real-time database is used to store and manage the simulation data, which provides a sharing data area for component's simulating. Aero-engine simulating data is classified and modeled according to its characteristics. The storage structure and operating strategy are designed for the real-time database, and the configuration and running system of the real-time database is built up.The aero-engine configuration simulation platform is designed. The graphical configuration system of the simulation platform is established based on MFC single-document framework, in which icons and connections are used to build aero-engine models. The running system for aero-engine models is also developed, with the configuration method of the model equations and steady/transient simulation algorithm designed.Finally, different types of aero-engine models are established in the platform developed in this paper, and steady&transient simulation are carried out. The simulation results show that the simulation platform is suitable to model and simulate many types of aero-engines. Aero-engine configuration modeling and simulation is feasible.
