UVLS is the last line of defense as safe and stable control in ordor to maintain power system security stability, and it will become the important measures to ensure the power quality. With the implementation of the strategy of "power transmission from west to east, power exchange between south and north, national interconnected power system",our country will also form "the three regional grids of north china"large interconnected power system synchronization.Under this background, the power system operation condition is more close to the limit of operation. The voltage stability is more serious. If a major power system incidents, the loss of its size may increase dramatically. Therefore, the study of voltage stability and the means to prevent voltage collapse of great significance. This paper start from the concept of voltage stability, explains the control of the process to prevent voltage collapse. Combined with the principle of PV curve, use of BPA as an analytical tool based on the voltage stability of Xuancheng state in Anhui power grid.its UVLS scheme has been studied. The PV curves of partial nodes within power grid is calculated, and divide into different clusters configuration,in accordance with the sensitivity relationship between load growth and voltage reduction. The proposed scheme can effectively head off the voltage deterioration of power system, and conducive to voltage rapid recovery. Based on the above solution, this paper presents the technical method of clustering con figuration.and compare with the experience configuration. It’s provides a theoretical basis and methods of guidance as reasonable arrange the scheme of UVLS.
