At present the power system of our country towards the direction of big units, power grid, high voltage grade and high automation, and the load current is greatly increasing. At the same time, China’s power is rapidly developing in the direction of intelligent power grid, which also runs the related electrical equipments toward the direction of miniaturization, intensive, information and intelligent. That apply the advanced sensing measurement technology and the information communication technology in the primary equipments of the power system, and combine the primary equipments and secondary equipments of the power system organically, has become an inevitable trend of the electrical equipments in the smart grid.General conventional energy metering devices consist of a current transformer, a voltage transformer, a power meters and the secondary wiring. However, the high-voltage electromagnetic energy measuring device based on traditional transformer has many problems. Its insulation structure is complex, large volume and high cost, installation is very inconvenient, and a narrow core of the band, dynamic range is small, prone to saturation, the secondary current waveform distortion. Since the existence of intermediate links, which easily lead to measurement error, stealing and other phenomena, which affect the accuracy of measurement, so the conventional high-voltage measuring device can no longer satisfy the actual power system requirements. So we need to develop a new integrated high voltage energy metering device with higher measurement accuracy.This paper analyzes the development of the current domestic and international high-voltage measuring devices, and designs a new integrated high voltage energy metering device, which achieves a direct measurement of high voltage by the professional metering chip. The device is compact, and its size is less than one third of the conventional high-pressure measuring device. With easy installation, low power consumption, low cost, high accuracy and the advantages of information, etc. The high voltage measurement device is placed on the high voltage side after the whole package, and has a good ability of preventing electricity-stolen.This paper first introduces the basic working principles of the high-voltage measuring device, and then elaborates the design of the hardware circuits and system software of the high-voltage measuring device.
