With the application of new substation equipments (e.g., electronic transformer,intelligent breaker and other intelligent equipments), the development ofcommunication networks technology and the issue of IEC61850stardand, thesubstation automation system (SAS) are undergoing revolutionary change.Developping on the basis of digital substation which based on a digital primaryequipment, network-oriented secondary equipment and the unified informationplatform on IEC61850is the main direction for future SAS, and the process bus isone of the main features of digital substation, research and design the process bus ofdigital substation are the main content of this thesis.Main researches in this thesis include the follows.(1) In-depth study of the digital substation and related technologies, combinedwith engineering practice and process of digital substation process bus, Put forwardthe research direction and focus, provide technical support for the digital substationproject. Secondly, with the development of present technological and the digitalsubstation research’s need, analysis digital substation’s technology base and the maininternational standard, discusse the development of network technology and itsapplication in the digital substation.(2) According to the IEC61850international standard’s requests, the digitalsubstation system construction is constructed, the digital substation divides into theprocess level, the equipment level and the substation level from logic and theapplication, and analyzed the function and the technical characteristic each level,analyzed the digital substation main feature and the development direction. Fourthly,established the model of digital substation process bus, from the sample valuetransmission, the GOOSE transmission and the synchronize clock network based onIEEE1588standard’s, study the transmission characteristic of process bus on digitalsubstation about each kind of information’s data model.(3) In order to realize the digital substation process bus, studied the function ofdigital substation process bus, the characteristic and the key component, designed themerging unit which connected electronic Transformers and process bus, and analyzedthe topology of process bus of digital substation.The smart grid needs standard construction of data from the source end. The design of merging unit designed under the standard of smart grid from the State GridCoporation of China has completed, is preparing the type test and trial operation.
