With more and more advanced technology applied in the battlefield and the continuousmutative situation of the war, the new requests about the technical performance of shipboardweapons are presented. Aim at the problems of large, medium caliber naval guns, such as, thelow efficiency and low degree of automation of the supply institution, the single ammunitiontype, and so on. This paper presents one designation about the modular institution that is usedin storage and transport ammunition, which make the above problems better. And then thestructure designation for the modular storage and transportation agencies has been processedin accordance with the design standard.In the early stage of the research for the modular storage and transport institution, thepower structure model has been established with three conditions. Similarity theory,dimensional analysis and the compatibility of similarity conditions, determining the similarmodel ratio as1:3.5. Then the structural design for the similar model has been proceed to getthe reduced scale model and model machine.The finite element model has been established for three-dimensional model based on thePro/E and ANSYS applications and assembly which belong to the modular storage andtransport institution, and analyze dynamic and modal characteristics under the typical workingcondition. For the institution’s supporting frames, modal analysis and harmonic response hasbeen analysed. From the modal analysis, vibration characteristics (Inherent frequency andvibration form among all of the levels) has been obtained. Combined with it’s workingcondition, the verdict is that it’s working frequency is not coincide with it’s excitationfrequency and it is hardly to get resonance phenomenon. Through the harmonious responseanalysis, the Position response curve and the Stress cloud which belong to the different parts ofthe institution within a certain range of frequency. The further work is to check the institutionhave the ability to conquer the fatigue and the harmful response caused by vibration. At last,within different working conditions, transient dynamics analysis has been processed for themodel machine. The institution’s dynamic response has been presented. Make the explanationin the form of the Von Mises,and the dynamic response within different working conditionsare compared and analyzed. Check out the stiffness and strength of the institution and thecertification that whether it can meet the basic requirement. And make sure that the institution could transport the ammunition smoothly under the impact force or not.From the simulation for the similar model and experimental dates and combined with thesimilarity theory of all parameters between "model" and "prototype", which could prove thatthe institution is reasonable, efficient, low consumption, reliability and practicality.
