Water conservancy is the foundation of the national economy and pumping station is an mportant part of water conservancy project.Besides pumping stations are the key to protect and levelop the grain production. And in solving the flood disaster, dry, water environmental legradation that are the three great water resources problems, pumping stations play the role that cannot be replaced by another water conservancy project. Especially large-scale pumping stations undertake the load that are the regional waterlogging prevention, irrigation, water ransfer and water supply. And in the sustainable development of China’s national economy and the service in an well-rounded way the construction of a moderately prosperous society, large-scale pumping stations play a very important role.Based on various comprehensive evaluation of domestic and foreign theories and methods, genetic algorithm, simulating the mechanism of biological inheritance, is applied to the complex system problem which is how to evaluate the safety of the large-scale pumping stations in this paper. It has important realistic meaning and profound significance for the accurate evaluation of the security situation of the large-scale pumping stations. This paper mainly studies the content as follows:(1) Within the scope of engineered disease definition in pumping stations, this article summarizes the formation of engineered disease for pumping station from three perspectives of the buildings of pumping station projects, electrical and mechanical equipment and metal structure. Besides the paper also analyzes various kinds of causes for the engineered disease of pumping station projects, and expounds the mechanism and characteristics of disease for all parts of pumping station projects(2) The guide line and the basic procedure of safety comprehensive evaluation and the measurement method of evaluation index for pumping station projects were given in the paper. According to SL316-2004"Pumping Station Safety Assessment Requirement",the index system and the index measure rules of safety synthetic evaluation for pumping station projects were established.(3) Genetic algorithm, analytic hierarchy process(AHP) and fuzzy mathematics theory were studied in the research of warrant methods for safety comprehensive evaluation. The analytic hierarchy process which is based on the inspection consistency of judging matrix by the genetic algorithm and the combination of subjective and objective warrant method based on genetic analytic hierarchy process were put forward.(4) The model of safety comprehensive evaluation for large-scale pumping stations was studied. The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method based on GA-AHP and the matter-element extension synthesis assessment method were applied in the safety comprehensive evaluation for large-scale pumping stations(5) Taking example for Linhong west pumping station in Lianyungang of Jiangsu Province, the rationality and practicability of the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model based on GA-AHP was verified.
