Recent years, with the development of the city bridges, self-anchored suspension bridge with better adaptability has been developed rapidly and applied widely to small and medium-span. In order to meet the special bridge site and topography in the complex urban traffic, skew bridge and curved bridge are unavoidable in design. Based on the calculation and analysis of static and dynamic response of a skew self-anchored suspension bridge in Harbin, this article makes study of the effect of skew angle to force and structure behavior.As the fundament of the whole analysis, reasonable finished state of suspension bridge is the most important stage in the static and dynamic calculation. Based on large displacement theory and taking full consideration to the nonlinear, this article uses a general-purpose finite element software called MIDAS Civil to do the analysis. Meanwhile, it is attempted to calculate the linetype and the cable force according to the conventional process of orthogonal bridge, and then evaluate the accuracy and reasonableness of the finished state.Afterwards, based on the finished state got before, it can be able to analyze moving loads in operational phase. Also an orthogonal model for comparison should be built, whitch has the same parameters with the skew model.The effect of skew on the force and structure behavior can be analyzed by comparing the calculation results of the two models above.Similar methods are used in the analysis of the effect of skew on the dynamic behavior. First subspace iteration method is used to calculate the natural vibration of the structure, and then the mode-superposition response spectrum method to the structure seismic response spectrum, as well as immediate integrationto seismic time-history response. Meanwhile, the effect of skew will be available.Through the analysis and calculation above, drawing a preliminary conclusion on the static, dynamic behavior of a skew self-anchored suspension bridge, this article should be available to provide some reference on design of finished state, static and dynamic behavior of skew suspension bridge.
