In the21st century, mankind will face to serious energy shortage and environmental challenges. Research and development on energy saving, environmental protection and safe cars is the only way to achieve sustainable development. When driving an electric vehicles, almost no emissions. And it would achieve energy diversity and highly-efficient. It’s easier to implement electronic and intelligent. Due to many technical advantages, the development of electric vehicles is quickly in recent years.Among the motor layout style of electric vehicle, in-wheel motor driving system is the most flexible, and most easily to aplly in any style of automotive cars. And more and more receive enterprises, universities and research institutes attention. Although this system is still in development stage, there are many immature place. However, some foreign institutions using their huge capital and research competence have been made related products, And domestic research is still in development stage.This paper main about the application of computer software to design a15kw in-wheel motor. And carry out simulation experiment on driving system. This main study in my paper includes following aspects.(1) Appliy the Rmxprt software which based on equivalent circuit and magnetic circuit and refer to the related technical manuals, to design a permanent magnet synchronous motor. And then optimize its related parameters.(2) Using the electromagnetic field finite element software Maxwell to create the motor model, mesh finite element partition, and set the boundary conditions and load. And then analysis of the internal motor’s electromagnetic field to find out the original design flaws, re-application Rmxprt software to correct.(3) Finally, the application of Matlab/Simulink software in order to simulate the motor driving system. For differdent working condition to use the different control strategy, when low speed control with Id=0, in the middle to high speed control with field weakening control strategy. And combine wheel motor system and the vehicle longitudinal dynamic to verify whether meet the actual needs,and to analyze the simulation results.
