The geological relic is a kind of non-renewable natural heritages which formed,developed and was lefted behind owing to the in the inner and outer force during theendless geological history period that the earth evolved about four hundred million years.The geological relic is a very important way for human to acquire the preciousinformation of earth evolvement process and the natural environment condition. Theyhave important science value, education value and the value of ecological environment.However, with the development of society and economy, the conflict between theexploitation and protection of geological relics becomes more and more prominent. Thegeopark is a kind of nature parks established with the aim of the sustainable developmentof protecting geological relics, developing scientific tourism, popularizing earth scienceknowledge, promoting the local economy, culture and natural environment. Obviously,constructing geopark is most effective method to protect and geological heritageresources.Hengtou-Songfeng mountain geopark is in the North East New Cathaysian tectonicsystem second uplift belt and in western margin of the northern section of Zhang Guangcaimountain uplift, belonging the ridge of Daqing mountain. The geopark put hill, water,fountain, stone, wall, column, hole, peak into a streamline. It well preserved in theecological environment of original forest, with a view of value, science and research value.Hengtou and Songfeng mountain geopark is the natural geological museum in nature. At the same time it also is the tourist resort which set geological relics, the original ecologicallandscape, Jin Yuan culture, cultural landscape in one, with the reputation "the garden ofice city".Under the premise of strict protection of geological heritage resources and naturalecological system, with the needs of the market-oriented and combined with the provinceand outside the relevant geological park development trend, protective developmentplanning is formulated. Hengtou and Songfeng mountain geopark will be builded as ageological and ecological tourism resort which set scientific research, education, tourism,vacation, health care, education and entertainment in one. It has great significance withsustainable development and the sustainable utilization to protect and develop Hengtouand Songfeng mountain geopark.This paper introduces the basic situation, geological background, geologic reliclandscape and main protection object of Hengtou-Songfeng mountain geopark. The totalarea of Hengtou-Songfeng mountain geopark is191km2in which volcanics and graniteare distributed in large area with sporadic distribution of strata. Unique geological relicswere formed by inner and outside forces and constitute eight core geological landscapes.The evaluation of geological relics shows that geological relics have typicality, rareness,naturality, integrity in the natural attribute with scientific value, tour value, economicvalue and social value.According to the practical situation of Hengtou-Songfeng mountain geopark, the parkis divided into six scenic spots areas. Combined with the relevant geological parkdevelopment present situation of the province and outside, the tourism development andprotection planning are formulated from the aspects of infrastructure construction, touristroute design and eatablishing right management mechanism. Under the guidance of “strictprotection, unified management, reasonable development, sustainable use”, the geologicalheritage landscape database was set up. To ensure the healthy and sustainable developmentof the geological park, the resource potential is mined optimally, constructing anddeveloping actively, improving the comprehensive economic value and strength, gradually expanding the park’s popularity and the quantity of tourists.
