The rural kindergartens located at Handan area have great potential in the field of energy-saving. First, it has significant advantages in the design of architectural energy-saving, such as the use of sustainable energy. Secondly, the number of rural kindergartens in Handan is nearly2000, and the implementation of energy-saving design is few. Thirdly, countries have changed the architectural energy-efficient emphasis to the country. Energy-saving transformation and new energy-saving design will soon be enforced. Many large design institutes have established a separate department of green building energy efficiency design as the core part of green building design is particularly of concern.In this paper, the first concern is the children’s development needs, so healthy and comfortable indoor environment is the design center. Secondly, the construction funds for rural child-care is less and we should make full use of local resources, and energy saving measures should have good economic performance. Again, kindergarten has its unique space organization and facade style, and energy-saving facilities must be natural into the whole buildings. The energy efficiency design of Handan rural kindergartens has large research space. The innovation points of design mainly embodied in five aspects:(1) Combining form of the passive solar energy heating and kindergarten space and facade.(2) The density of the rural building is lower. The treatment of outdoor wind environment is easier. But kindergarten is always with large depth and low story height which go against organization of the nature ventilated, so should solve through the design means.(3) Kindergarten has high demand on natural lighting, so sunshade design has three keys. One is the computation of the sizes of the specific components; Two, the balance of the sunshade and daylight Three, artistic effect of the combination of components and facade.(4) in order to make the rural kindergarten integrate into the regional environment. we should consider the whole system of landscape design.(5) we should make full use of the resources of the country’s crops and planting technology to reduce the economic pressure, and the realize the win-win situation of landscape design and the energy saving design.This thesis aims to carry on research on passive building energy conservation design of Handan rural kindergartens. At the same time to provide reference for the energy conservation design of other regional rural kindergartens. Sustainable building is the trend of architecture development in the future with the idea of enjoying popular supports, this paper will offer help to Handan rural kindergarten energy-saving design.
