In the development of automobile technology in the1970s, mainly in increased power, handling and stability, comfort, braking and improve lighting, perspective, and so these can be called active safety.But a variety of car accidents will still occur frequently in the car after a collision, how to reduce casualties has become a very important issue, which is known as automotive crash (passive) safety. Over the past two decades, the attention of relevant departments and leadership, as well as the efforts, China has carried out research in this area, and formulated related regulations and standards.But most corporation still use the static loading method to test the strength characteristics of the seat dynamic test method can be more accurate simulation of the vehicle’s actual collision condition, so using the dynamic test method to study the passive safety of the seat is the general trend.This paper based on the extensive collection, research, analyzes data with a domestic passenger car seat as the research object, introduced the relevant safety regulations, the finite element theory and algorithms, and the seat dynamic test methods. Did dynamic test according to the European Union ECE R17regulations established and simulated the seat of the finite element model, by using explicit nonlinear dynamic finite element method. Detailed test requirements, test method, and evaluated the result of the test.Established the passenger car seat model. with geometric modeling software CATIAV5.Detailed modeling process and simplified principle,the unit type selection,the material properties and the physical characteristics of the definition and the finite element mesh division.Established finite element model of a seat-the trolley system,set the parameters of the simulation model processed simulation seat dynamic test with ECE R17dynamic test standards and requirements.Accordance with the requirements of ECE R17dynamic test,the simulation results indicated that:the stress distribution around the adjuster, the medial and lateral plates, etc.. Stress appears at the bottom of the side of the box, near the location of the adjuster. This point of maximum stress is280MPa, while the backrest side of the box material is16MnRE, the yield limit is304MPa, this did not reach the material yield limit, was met the requirements, other stress did not reach the limit of the material.In the three anchors place, the biggest stress points should be also not to yield limit of materials, the simulation analysis show that the seat regulation compliance requirements. Slide, adjusting the connection plate stress is bigger, shall be the appropriate thickening. There is less influence on the box, box clip wall, lower frame and a basin to the seat structure, reasonable decorate can provide a lot of lightweight space. Simulation results and the practical car of the experimental results, and revised the simulation model, the results of the two basic to the agreement.
