The automobile seat is not only one of important parts of automobile interiors, but also asystematic engineering product integrated with ergonomic, mechanical vibration, mechanicalanalysis, and control engineering. With the development of automobile technology andimprovement of people’s living standards, the riding comfort becomes an important measuringstandard for selecting automobiles. The riding comfort of automobile seat mainly containsstatic and dynamic comfort. At present, there is a large gap on the performance of dynamiccomfort by compared with the foreign similar automotive seat products. The main cause isthat the domestic researches on the dynamic comfort of automobile seat are not enough. Howto make human body keep comfort in vibration environment is one of key tasks in the R&Dof automobile seat. Thus, it is urgent to do some researches on the dynamic comfort ofautomobile seat in order to improve market competitiveness for domestic automotive seatproducts. Therefore, the research works on the dynamic comfort of automobile seat are doneby taking the dynamic parameters of the non-suspension seat and suspension seat as the studyobjects with the help of ergonomics theory, multibody dynamics theory, CAD digitalmodeling technology and virtual prototyping technology, etc. The main works in this papercan be concluded as the following:1) The paper comprehensively describes the currently research status on the human-seatsystem models and human vibration characteristics, the dynamic parameters and transfercharacteristics of automotive seats, and the evaluation methods for the dynamic comfort ofautomotive seat. By using the ergonomic module of CATIA V5, the3D human modelscorresponding the domestic human dimensions are built. In consideration of the ergonomicsand the H point of automotive seat, the key problems are analyzed in the design of static anddynamic comfort of automotive seat.2) The3D model of the human-seat system is set up by using CAD digital modelingsoftware, through the interface file, which can be imported into a multi-body dynamicssoftware ADAMS for simulation analysis. Taking the non-suspension seat and suspension seatas the research objects, the best value ranges of automotive seat’s dynamics parameters areobtained by choosing different dynamic parameters and comparing their effects on humanbody vibration characteristics.3) The whole automotive system dynamics model consisting of front and rear suspensionsystem, steering system, automotive body and power train system, tire and human-seat systemis built based on ADAMS/Car. Simultaneously, the asphalt road surface and cement road surface fitting to the national standard are established. With obtained dynamic parameters ofautomotive seat in step2), the riding comfort of automotive seat in different road surfacesand different automotive speeds is simulated. At last, the simulation results are evaluated bythe human comfort evaluation method of ISO2631-1:1997(E), it can further verify thecorrectness of the automotive seat dynamic parameters values.In summary, the researches in this paper provide a scientific basis for improving theriding comfort of automotive seats, especially the dynamic comfort, and establish theoreticalbasis for promoting the level in the R&D and practical production of domestic automotiveseats.
