Research On The Construction Of Central City Green Walking System In Zhengzhou

Urban environment has a great impact on all the aspects of people’s daily life. With theimprovement of urbanization, a variety of urban diseases have emerged, seriously affectingthe health of urban residents. People gradually begin to focus on the pursuit of quality of lifeand one significant sign is to concern about the quality of their own health. Walking is abasic activity of all human beings. Moreover, green walking is the healthiest way for awalking, playing an irreplaceable part in urban life. How to meet people’s demand for greentravel to the maximum extent in the fast-paced urban construction and urban life is the veryproblem we must confront.“Greenway” theory has been the hot issue and in the forefront of theoretical research athome and abroad.“Green Walking System”, whose concept is based on the theories ofGreenway and walking system, assumes the function of walkway and recreation, andconstitutes the green ecological network of inner city as a green connector of the walkingspace in the city. The author selects the green space on walkways and riversides of localregions in the main area of Zhengzhou City as study object, analyzes the current situation ofwalkways within the study area, and proposes an assumption of establishing Green WalkingSystem in order to build a healthy, comfortable and convenient urban walking traffic system.This study proposes the concept of “Green Walking System”, analyzes relevant theoreticalresearch and practical cases at home and abroad, discusses the construction meaning,characteristics, classification, constitution and architecture of Green Walking System, andindicates the construction strategies of urban Green Walking System. Based on theabovementioned statement, the author, taking the main area of Zhengzhou City as anexample, studies the line-selection approaches of urban green walkways, digs out greenwalkways of building potential through the investigation of walkways in the main area ofZhengzhou City, explores the construction mode of green walkways, which confirms theconstruction principle of green walkways and guides the construction of green walkingsystem, Eventually established the main green walking system network of Zhengzhou. When it comes to the study on the green walking system construction in the main areaof Zhengzhou City, there are still a lot of deficiencies, especially the removal and heavytraffic issues caused by green space increase which are comparatively difficult to solve. Inaddition, the author only studies some walkways in the main area of Zhengzhou City, so theinvestigation scope is to some extent limited and some more in-depth issues remain to befurther studied and resolved. This study is not planning to organize the green walkingsystem in Zhengzhou City but to propose a new method of understanding and organizing inorder to contribute to the establishment of harmonious walking environment and healthyurban environment. Meanwhile, the author also hopes that this study can add some referencevalues to the research of urban green space system and traffic system.
