Research Of An Intelligent And Compact Prefabricated Step-up Substation For Wind Power Generation

In China, we generally use the "low wind generator" for wind power, its output voltage is0.69kV. Because of the wind turbines are scattered and far from wind farm substation, the export voltage need to be boosted by the set-up substation to reduce the power loss before being sended to the wind farm substation.The prefabricated substation is a small-scale and unmanned one. Therefore, it is required to possess basic function of power automation, compact and easy to install whether from producing, operating and management, or from social demand. And it is imperative to develop a new kind of accurate, reliable intelligent and compact prefabricated substations for wind power to meet the need of the market, under the guide of the GB’s standard.Based on the extensive literature reviewing, the current types and characteristics of the prefabricated substation are introduced. Combined with the characteristics of wind power, a design idea about intelligent and compact prefabricated substation for wind power is proposed. According to the practical condition of the author, the design contents of the prefabricated substation are described in very much detail, especially, the schemed design, the main equipments and auxiliary equipments. Because there are a lot of prefabricated substations proposals, the typical layout of the intelligent and compact prefabricated substation is also introduced. Finally, the product is conducted the type test and factory test, to meet the user’s requirements and the use standards.
