With the rapid development of urban central heating, pipe network continues to expand and improve. As the scale of underground pipeline expansion, its structure becomes more complex, urban management also gets harder. on one hand, it caused difficulties to normal running, maintenance and extension of heating pipe network; on the other hand, tube network explosion, and pipeline broken accident caused by new tube network construction or tube network fault maintenance often occurred, and these problems often caused large economic losses. Traditional management way cannot meet the management requirements of heating pipe network today. Therefore, how to achieve scientific and efficient management, optimize the design of the entire network, and solve problems in the operational regulation, is the urgent task of current study on the heating pipeline network.This paper more comprehensively considered the current problems existing in heating pipeline network, to comprehensively manage the large amounts of spatial data and attribute data by using GIS technology. We selected Microsoft SQL Sever2000database, programmed to implement property query and figure positioning function through using VB combined MapX that is component of GIS, for quickly querying property and space location of all elements on tube network, developing space measurement, space analysis, and tube network extension function, Established a logical relationship among all adding or removing elements when heating pipe network expanded, and achieved the function that updating data in database as the pixel changed, its data measurement, and section analysis of pipeline laid condition has an important of secondary effect on improvement of the tube network. System also completed hydraulic calculation and accident analysis function, it can provide valve shutting program and affected users quickly when heating supply pipe network leaks and squibs, and to minimize economic losses brought by accidents, considering the management needs of heating-supply network, developed a better heating-supply network GIS, made information management of heating pipe network more modern.
