Modern war requires aircrafts to be prepared for fight within the shortest possible time. As atypical complex discrete event, the aircraft maintenance process consists of re-fueling, gas-filling,weapon-hanging and many other operations, which depends on a number of professional staff tooperate with various ground support equipments together. So it is a significant and practicallyvaluable work that how to arrange the pre-flight maintenances reasonably so as to ensure thehigh efficiency of maintenance program.Focusing on the goal of shorter time, higher efficiency and lower cost, this paper mainlystudies the problem of simulation and optimization of pre-flight maintenance process. With thesoftware eM-Plant as working platform, Genetic Algorithm and Network Planning method areapplied to the solution of the problem, maintenance models are abstracted and established. Afterthe aircraft maintenance contents are simplified by Clustering algorithm and sorted by priority, the maintenance flow model is established. When several aircrafts are maintained, the order ofthe major operations is determined first by GA, then, the maintenance flow model of everyaircraft is established. With Genetic Algorithm method, further analysis and improvement of themaintenance models are carried out. Then, the relationship between the quantity of severalimportant equipments and the time for preparation before flight is discussed. At last, the programhas been implemented by SimTalk language, which is suitable for the simulation system ofmaintenance process of airplane on a large scale. It is a partly in-depth research on the problem of maintenance process of airplane beforeflight, and provides a theory reference for maintenance in the future.
