RTI is the basic software of distributed interactive simulation based on HLA. It is thebasis of the implementation of the separation of simulation program, simulation managementand network communications. In this paper, a simple RTI software is designed andimplemented. And with this software, a distributed simulation environment which consists ofship simulator and aircraft simulator is constructed.Through the analysis of several architectures of RTI software, hierarchical architecture isadopted. This architecture is both efficient and extensible. The FED file is developed with theXML file, and is analyzed by the MSXML parser of Microsoft. In the networkcommunication part, the winsock functions is capsulated to form the SOCKET class libraries, which mainly consists of communication classes based on TCP/IP protocol and multicast. Thefederation management, declaration management and object management are implemented, with some supportive services. With this RTI software, a distributed simulation environmentwhich consists of ship simulator and aircraft simulator is constructed which can conduct thecoordination training of ships and aircrafts. The RTI software can meet the requirements ofdistributed interactive simulation primarily and the distributed simulation environment canwork in real time and synchronously.
