With the fierce international competition and rapid development of technology in the twenty-first century, the differences between similar products from different enterprises are decreasing. While the spirit of products called the brand concept can not be imitated and coped easily. According to market demand and combined with their own situation, enterprises have formulated and carried out strategies to establish brand image, to expand the influence and to keep the staying power of the brand. The design of household products has affected the quality of our daily life directly or indirectly, for the reason that we have been so closely related to those necessaries. It has become the most important strategic for household brands that strengthening the overall image of the brand and expanding product line. To achieve the continuation of brand concept, enterprises should unify their form factors of the products, which is the most simplest method. The article expounds the dialectical relationship between brand and form factors of products after elaborating related concepts. On the one hand, form factors of products are the material basis of the brand, which can convey the core of the brand image. On the other hand, the abundant connotation in the brand provides a clear direction for the design of form factors in products. On the basis of theoretical analysis, the article researches form factors of household products. Researching classical product designs from various period in the history, the article discusses the evolution of household products and summarizes their common features. It clarifies the impact of social culture, indoor space environment and material color to the design of household products, and then points out the necessary of using environmental materials in household products. The core of the article is to research relevant characteristics of household products and summarize design methods of household products, which is combined with specific cases and based on brand building.
