Electric vehicle technology has developed rapidly in recent years. Close attention is paid to its safety and reliability. Real-time monitoring, intelligent scheduling, convenient management in the electric vehicle has become a necessity.From the point of system requirements and capabilities, a intelligent electric vehicle terminal was designed. The combination of high performance of ARM processor and Linux operating system was the best overall design. In order to capture traffic data, such as battery state, motor state, CAN bus interface was extened through SPI bus. GTS-4e receive positioning data, and all the relevant information was stored in the SD card. General Packet Radio Service applied in this system has solved the communication problem between vehicle intelligent terminal and remote monitoring center.Combined with system requirements, the communication protocol of the system was analyzed. GPS protocol parsing is given in detail, and so the realization of a wireless communication. Aiming at being suitable for this system, this thesis formulates a reasonable application layer protoco according to CAN2.0protocol and SAE J1939technical specifications.Chosen Real6410, a development board whose core is Samsung S3C6410as the basic hardware platform. Use twoserial ports to realize the communication of principle and GPS receiver, principle and GPRS module, and SPI bus to entend CAN bus interface.Under RedHat9.0operating system, the ARM-Linux cross complier was set up. Clipping and transplantation in the U-boot、the Linux kernel and yaffs system, was done to suit for the system. Software design mainly includes:in the ARM-Linux operating system, wireless network are implemented by the PPP dial-up connection, use Linux network programming to realize data transmission; Based on serial communication, the design of GPS data receiving and processing; development of CAN bus driver based on the SPI driver, CAN equipment data receiving and processing program in the application layer; the data storage program in yaffs system.
