As we know, in the economic society, the important basic feature is the trade. Can trade go smoothly is closely linked with the convenience of transportation, so to speak, more than any other things, transportation affect the market trade. The future development direction of efficient transport system will be the comprehensive transportation system with effective cohesion and integration between different mode of transportation, and multimodal transport can satisfy this requirement.Container multimodal transport contributes to the globalization process, is more convenient for enterprises to carry out global procurement and use of global resources, separate the manufactured goods and consumption, increases the transportation distance of these goods, saves manpower and resources for the enterprise cost, promotes the market development, improves the transport punctuality, enhances the manufacturers using cheap raw material production capacity of finished products. Continued weakness in the global economy, according to the Chinese container ports association branch of statistics, in2012, the scale above port container throughput is176.51million TEUs, grows8.1%, and Chinese container throughput is expected accounted for about28%of the world total.Even so, most of the container transportation in our country is still in the form of staging, the multimodal transport operator’s network is not builded up, the container multimodal transport chain has not yet formed. In addition, in the process of container transportation, the segmented transport enterprise often self decide the choice of the transport and path of container, lacks of unified optimization scheduling, causes a lot of waste, and not gives full play to the advantages of container multimodal transport. In this situation, it is necessary to stand in the angle of the container multimodal transport operator, to fully apply of the existing geographic information system software, integrate the various resources of multimodal transport chains, and do further research of the choice of the mode of transportation of container intermodal transportation and transport path optimization problems. In this paper, the path selection and optimization of container intermodal transportation is as the research object. Differently with previous scholars, this article from the perspective of the multimodal transport operator, builds the whole multimodal transport network into a unified super-network, and combining the latest GIS technology, and intuitively display the path optimization results to the operator. The most basic and also the key work of this study is how to reasonably built the highway, the railway, the waterway into a unified super-network, and built the mathematical model of container multimodal transport network. Then, using a variety of optimization algorithm to solve the optimization model, and applying the MapBasic programming to optimize the results intuitively displayed on the MapInfo interface. Finally, the paper takes Inner Mongolia duolun chemical plant transporting50000Tons/month of pure benzene to Jiangyin in Jiangsu province for example, to verify the constructive model.
